Bio

Emil undertook PhD research in computational neuroscience and machine learning at the University of Cambridge, and has used this knowledge to pioneer the use of artificial intelligence for interpreting neural data. He began working with startups at age 17 and has experience in a range of industries from clean energy to medical innovations.

OLIVER ARMITAGE

Bio

Oliver has always had a vision that the human body could be repaired or made better through augmentative technology and how that can be used to improve people’s lives. He studied for his PhD at the University of Cambridge in Bioengineering, working in the world-renowned Nanoscience Centre. He specializes in tissue interfaces and engineering that allows technology to be fused with the body.

Previously Paul has worked in international investment banking in the United States, co-founded a significant biofuels startup in the UK, and established a not-for-profit impact incubator and accelerator programme. More recently Paul has worked with a variety of startup and scaling technology businesses from around the world, primarily in areas of strategy, fundraising and corporate development.

Bio

Hailey has led communications campaigns with some of the world’s largest corporates and accelerators. Previously, she led the due diligence and follow-on funding for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund, a $485 million fund specialising in biotechnology and deep tech.

Bio

Sudha comes with a significant background in medical engineering, developing technologies ranging from custom-made implants to robotic surgery systems. Having recently completed his MBA at the University of Cambridge, he utilises his varied experience to lead the efforts of the engineering team.

MATJAZ
Software Engineering Lead

Bio

Matjaž has a PhD in Medical Robotics, which focused on a hands-on robot for knee surgery and became the basis of the medical robotics company he co-founded, Acrobot. The company was later acquired by Stanmore Implants, where he was the head of Computer Assisted Surgery development and was instrumental in obtaining FDA 510(k) approval for their Sculptor RGA robotic system. Most recently he was the lead software engineer at Cortexica, which uses computer vision and ML for image and video analysis. He is also the author or co-author of more than 45 scientific journal and peer-reviewed conference papers and publications and is the co-inventor of two patents.
